The company is an industry pioneer, having developed a drone-based solution for detecting methane gas emitting from ground surfaces. Job Overview
You will be responsible for leading our technology and product development roadmap while using your wealth of experience and leadership to build on our foundation for continued growth. You will assume leadership of our technology and product development roadmap enhancing our core solutions, while leading the invention of new exciting products and solutions.
This position requires a committed effort to leverage their experiences and skill set to "visioneer", develop, motive, and deliver products and solutions for great impact.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assume lead of our product and technology roadmap for greatest impact.

Execute on the roadmap through leadership of internal GIS Engineering Team and management/collaboration with external engineering teams

This position requires individual contributions in either C++ software, Hardware Design or similar (board design, embedded computing expertise, etc) – you are both a leader and a team member

Technical depth to excel to drive one of the above disciplines and technical breadth to manage the work product of team members in all disciplines

Leverage your network and communication skills to build the technology team, both internal and external

Work with the C-suite to identify and achieve specific goals related to the product

Responsible for technology deployment to the field with respect to federal, state and local regulations – including specific test methods approved for Sniffer Robotics

Manage and take a hands-on role in both development and testing of hardware and software in support of operations

Troubleshoot field issues across the full breadth of the software, hardware and electronics stack
Requirements
-
Strong organizational leadership skills
-
Extensive experience and knowledge in drones, robotics, or a related field
-
Degree in software engineering, computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field
-
Have had experience and willing to do hands-on development, testing, and prototyping
-
At least 5 years' experience in product/technology development and engineering management roles

Experience in C++, C, Python, CAD (Solidworks)

Fluent written and verbal communication in English

Legally able to work in the United States and from an office in Southeastern Michigan.
Qualifications

Experience working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies and develop quality teams

Experience managing the development of mechanical and electronic components through an entire product development process, from design to manufacturing and certification

You have worked in a startup environment and are willing to wear multiple hats

Experience in scaling companies

Willingness to work with and develop talent within the organization
