JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in GIS/geospatial analysis and data management. The candidate should be knowledgeable in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines and short turnaround times, and good communication and customer service skills. Additionally, the candidate should be available to assist field technicians with technical issues as needed.

​This is a full-time, hourly position.

The candidate must be able to legally work in the United States, must submit a background check and drug test, and will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain GIS databases, data models, and data standards.

• Develop and maintain GIS web maps, apps, and dashboards for use by internal and external customers.

• Create maps and reports of collected data for customers.

• Georeference basemaps from a variety of sources and digitize features to support field work.

• Perform data management, analysis, and mapping tasks using GIS software (ArcGIS Pro) and ArcGIS Online.

• Provide technical support in real time for work by the field technicians, internal staff, or customers as needed.

• Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for GIS workflows and processes.

• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other staff members to achieve project goals.

• Stay current with new GIS technologies and trends through training and conference attendance.

• Occasionally work outside of standard business hours to meet deadlines.

• Infrequent field visits to better understand our business, application, and customer expectations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, or related field.

• Minimum of two years of experience in GIS analysis.

• Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and short turnaround times.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Additional experience with programming, specifically in Python and Arcade programming languages.

• Experience developing proprietary tools.

• Experience creating and maintaining visually captivating ArcGIS Dashboards, Instant Apps, and StoryMaps.
