MARKET INTELLIGENCE

Sniffer is seeking a motivated intern to assist with market intelligence activities. The internship begins in January 2024, is approximately 12 weeks in duration, part-time depending on availability, and paid $18/hour. Working hours are flexible and the work is primarily remote, although it will be required to meet in-person in Bloomfield Hills, MI several times throughout the internship.  

Through this internship, the intern will further develop their research and critical thinking skills by utilizing various resources to populate Sniffer’s potential customer database of over 2,000 landfills in the United States. Data contained in the database includes site name, customer details, GPS coordinates, and related information suitable for Sniffer sales to assess market details and build sales strategies.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct internet searches to add, edit, and verify records in Sniffer’s customer database. 

  • The intern may reach out to sites directly to confirm data from the database. 

  • Additional questions may be asked during the internship that may require further detail/analysis during the intern's tenure. 

  • Other side sales/marketing projects may be requested during the intern’s tenure, such as assistance for conferences, presentations, managing email lists, etc. 

  • At the end of the intern’s tenure, the intern will present their findings and their experience to their team members using guiding questions provided at the beginning of the internship. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Must be located in Michigan within driving distance of Bloomfield Hills

  • Motivated with strong time management skills, as the work will primarily done remotely at your own pace 

  • Strong research and critical thinking skills 

  • Basic to intermediate skills in Excel 

  • Student in good standing with GPA > 3.5 at a local university 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

  • The intern will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. 

The purpose of this work is to strengthen Sniffer’s Market Intelligence to aid in sales/marketing efforts, while assisting the company’s efforts to grow business. 

The intern will report to the Sales/Marketing Administrator.
