Commercial UAS Pilot

If you have a passion for the outdoors, flying drones, and have an entrepreneurial spirit, we have an opportunity for you!

Job Description

We have developed an unmanned aerial system (UAS - referred to as the SnifferDRONE™) for detecting methane gas emitting from ground surfaces.  Our technology is quickly being adopted by the municipal solid waste industry for automating surface emissions monitoring.  While our business is built on emissions monitoring, we are a full-service provider of drone-based aerial services, delivering high-precision aerial surveys and other related services from a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flown to collect high-resolution RGB, radiometric thermal, and multispectral imagery.

Business is expanding rapidly as we are currently performing projects in over six states.  We anticipate our footprint to more than double in 2020.  To support this activity, our company is seeking full-time FAA certified Part 107 pilots, with experience flying commercial unmanned aerial systems and managing aerial operations.

You will be a leader for the business and will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering successful projects on behalf of the company.  You will also be responsible for managing your crew, equipment, and the overall safety of the project in accordance with our three pillars of safety - Sniffer Robotics Safety Policy, Customer Specific Safety Policy, and the FAA Crew Resource Management procedures.  As an entrepreneurial company, you will be expected to perform at a high level while operating independently, efficiently, among a dynamic team-based environment.  Our commercial UAS pilots are expected to operate with the highest degree of professionalism.

Sniffer Robotics' Commercial UAV Pilots operate alongside our field technicians.  You may be asked to assist in manual operations in a minor role while onsite assisting fieldwork that may also be required to complete the project.

  • Be Sniffer Robotics' subject matter expert relating to aerial operations.

  • Effectively work within an entrepreneurial team environment.

  • Assist in the management of data and image processing.
